The HYGEIA Group is continuing its emergency project to provide assistance to the homeless of Athens, with numerous private companies (cooperated with HYGEIA hospital) participating in the effort.

As part of the planned initiatives, the construction company SARNITEC AKE, which works with the HYGEIA Group, started to construct a fence in the yard of the Homeless Shelter, with the aim of creating areas for special events catering for children (painting, handicrafts). Additionally, preparations are already underway to construct a roof over the outdoor area, where the food is distributed.
Last week, a HYGEIA Group team visited the City of Athens Homeless Shelter and distributed 500 packaged sandwiches, donated by the company Everest, and 65 boxes of Nounou Kid and Noulac milk, donated by the company Friesland.
Meanwhile, the Scientific Union of HYGEIA Doctors, with the aim of contributing to these efforts, offered 500 bags of fruit and 200 bags of chocolate pastries for the children of the poor families that receive food daily. The Union also distributed medications and medical supplies (antihistamines, syrups, inhalable medications, creams for muscle injuries, elastic bandages, disposable gloves and dermatological creams).
Other much-needed actions that have already been carried out include the distribution of 500 sleeping bags and 42,000 disposable food containers, as well as the provision of medications and medical supplies to cover the needs of the City of Athens Homeless Shelter. In addition, two commercial refrigerators and a cargo van have already been donated to the Shelter. Up until now, about 1,500 kg of fruit and 2,000 pastries have already been distributed, as well as milk, juices, coloring pads, coloring pens and games to the children of the poor families that dine at the Shelter daily.
