MITERA: MITERA at Home Service Available at Special Rate
Breastfeeding Week (November 1-7, 2016)
Exclusive breastfeeding rates have increased significantly at MITERA Hospital upon completion of the first three years since the first evaluation that recognized MITERA as a Baby-Friendly Hospital. In this time, MITERA has been adhering to the rules specified by UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO) on breastfeeding, remaining the only hospital in Greece to have been certified as Baby-Friendly, pursuant to the relevant decision issued by the Greek Ministry of Health.
Aiming at providing comprehensive support to new mothers, so they may experience the joy of breastfeeding even after being discharged, MITERA offers assistance to breastfeeding mothers at home through the MITERA at Home service (Contact phone no. 1051). Qualified midwives visit nursing mothers and assist them, offering information on breastfeeding positions and any other breastfeeding-related issues that may be troubling them.
On the occasion of the Breastfeeding Week (November 1-7, 2016), MITERA is offering the MITERA at Home service at the special rate of €30 per visit. The service is available to all the new mothers visiting the MITERA Hospital website (www.mitera.gr) and relevant Facebook page www.facebook.com/mitera.hospital from Tuesday November 1 to Monday November 7, 2016. After filling out their details on the special form, interested mothers will receive an email with all the relevant information.
MITERA Hospital further operates a Breastfeeding Helpline (+30 210 686 9000) as well as a Breastfeeding Outpatient Clinic for information and assistance on matters related to breastfeeding, while it offers free prenatal classes on breastfeeding.
In his comments, MITERA Hospital CEO, Mr Andreas Kartapanis noted, “By participating in the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), embracing this year’s motto ‘Breastfeeding: A Key to Sustainable Development’ and following the standards set by the Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes, UNICEF and WHO, MITERA has demonstrated its unwavering support for breastfeeding. Dedicated to this purpose and to providing top-level obstetrics services, MITERA has proven yet again that it holds a leading position in the private healthcare sector, offering the best possible support to mothers and their children, based on its broad knowledge and experience.”
