MITERA: International Forum on Adult Congenital Heart Diseases Completed Successfully
The International Forum on modern approaches in the treatment of adult congenital heart diseases was successfully completed at MITERA Hospital. The Forum was jointly organized by the MITERA Hospital Pediatric Cardiology & Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic and the Pediatric & Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery Clinic.
Distinguished Greek and internationally acclaimed scientists presented the latest developments in the management of pregnant patients with congenital heart diseases, as well as the problems associated with adults suffering from complex heart diseases. Other topics analyzed were the modern transcatheter procedures successfully performed nowadays in Greece, at MITERA Hospital, as well as all the latest trancatheter heart valve therapy techniques, where HYGEIA Group is considered an innovator. A lecture on the use of homografts in cardiac surgery, has become usual practice in Greece nowadays, followed. Finally, during the speech delivered by Professor Michael Gatzoulis (Royal Brompton Hospital, UK) on adults with congenital heart disease and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, the audience had the chance to acquire state-of-the-art knowledge on this topic.
