Mitera Arthroscopy Course-MAC1 training seminar for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injuries and Osteotomies around the Knee

MITERA Hospital and the 3rd and 4th Orthopedic Clinics successfully organized the Mitera Arthroscopy Course-MAC1 training seminar on the treatment of Anterior Cruciate Ligament injuries and Osteotomies around the knee, on the weekend of 17-18/5/2024.

The theoretical part was held in the auditorium of the MITERA Hospital “N. Louros” and the practical training on cadaveric preparations in the anatomical-surgical laboratory ATTC.

More than 150 health professionals (Orthopedic Surgeons, Physiatrists, Neurologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Trainers, Clinical Nutritionists, Students etc.) attended the theoretical part, while the presentations and lectures were given by internationally renowned Orthopedic Surgeons, Physiatrists and Physiotherapists from Greece and abroad with the most advanced and state of the art techniques dominating. The training in cadaveric preparations was done with 1 instructor of renowned reputation per 3 trainees to a total of 24 Orthopedic Surgeons.

The chairmen and organizers of the seminar Professor G. Skarpas, Director of the 3rd Orthopedic Clinic and Dr. P. Kontovazainitis, Director of the 4th Orthopedic Clinic, expressed their satisfaction with the report and conclusions of the seminar and stated that “this particular effort comes to upgrade the educational needs created due to the continuous and rapid developments in our specialty, something that, as a health organization, we have to cover in the most complete and advanced way, so that, apart from patient care, we can contribute to the formation of new therapeutic data and guidelines, as well as to the education of our new colleagues in orthopedics. The initiatives will continue with the next seminars that will be held on an annual basis so that they become an institution”.

The seminar was approved by the National Medicines Agency and granted 16 Continuing Medical Education credits by the Panhellenic Medical Association.
