October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and HYGEIA Hospital is yet again launching its breast cancer prevention and early diagnosis campaign. Strongly believing in the message “All for one and one for all”, it is offering breast cancer screening tests at special rates.
Specifically, HYGEIA, MITERA & LETO hospitals, as well as HYGEIA Group diagnostic centers Hygeianet Athens & Peristeri, are offering a digital mammography exam at €50 and a breast ultrasound at €40.
The exams are available to all the women visiting the websites of HYGEIA Hospital (www.hygeia.gr), MITERA (www.mitera.gr) & LETO (www.leto.gr) or the social media pages www.facebook.com/HygeiaHospital, www.facebook.com/mitera.hospital, www.facebook.com/letomaternity & www.facebook.com/ygeianet from Monday October 24 to Friday October 28, 2016. Anyone filling out their details on the special form will receive an email with all the information on how to have the exams performed.
The exams may be performed at HYGEIA, MITERA (Marousi) and LETO (Athens) hospitals, as well as the two HYGEIA Group diagnostic centers, Hygeianet Athens (1 Ventiri Street & V. Sofias Avenue, Hilton area) and Hygeianet Peristeri (177 Thivon Street, Peristeri), until the end of the year.
Meanwhile, in the context of its efforts to support the Ergastiri Association of Parents and Guardians of People with Disabilities, HYGEIA Hospital has undertaken to perform pro bono surgery at the hospital’s Breast Center on a woman who has been diagnosed with possible breast cancer onset.
Breast cancer is the most commonly occurring form of cancer in women, with approximately 1.3 million new cases reported annually worldwide. In Greece, 4,500 new cases are diagnosed every year and 2/3 of these women are over the age of 50. However, the disease can be treated if diagnosed early.
