Creation of an integrated state-of-the-art Neurophysiology Unit

MITERA, with a sense of responsibility towards patients and with the aim of providing integrated health services, has developed a complete and state-of-the-art Neurophysiology Unit within its Neurology Clinic.

The Unit consists of the Department of Electroencephalography and the Department of Electromyography – Electroneurography, providing all the diagnostic tests required, contributing to the correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment. The specialized physicians and technologists who staff the Neurophysiology Unit of MITERA have at their disposal state-of-the-art technology to provide high quality health services.

In the Electroencephalography Department, it is possible to carry out simple recordings of short duration, studies after sleep deprivation, but also multi-hour to multi-day recordings with simultaneous video monitoring, where appropriate, even for the most demanding cases. The studies are designed by the scientific team of the Unit in collaboration with the attending physician in order to properly investigate the case and ultimately obtain the required results that will lead to the correct diagnosis and treatment.

The Department of Electromyography and Electroneurography covers the whole range of examinations concerning diseases of the peripheral nervous system such as Motor conduction velocities, Sensory conduction velocities, Electromyography, Desmedt’s Repetitive Nerve Stimulation Test, Single-fiber electromyography, Evoked Potentials (visual and somatosensory) and Sympathetic Skin Reaction.
