MITERA: Four tons of food donated to the Municipality of Peristeri Social Grocery
MITERA Hospital collected and donated four tons of food to the Municipality of Peristeri Social Grocery, as part of HYGEIA Group’s extensive Corporate Social Responsibility Program.
During an event hosted at the Social Grocery, MITERA representatives handed over the food to the Mayor of Peristeri, Mr Andreas Pachatouridis. The groceries were collected by MITERA employees and included pasta, oil, flour, salt, long-life milk, legumes, coffee, toilet paper, etc.
The local government representatives thanked MITERA Hospital for its kind offer. During the ceremony, the Mayor of Peristeri, Mr Andreas Pachatouridis, stated, “With the motto ‘No one is alone during difficult times’ and with a strong sense of compassion towards our fellow citizens, the Municipality of Peristeri demonstrated its solidarity by launching a food-collection campaign. Responding immediately to our Municipality’s request, MITERA Hospital supported our Social Grocery, showing its compassion, which is currently more meaningful than ever and constitutes the sole hope for escaping the gloomy economic crisis. As the Mayor, I feel it is my duty to warmly thank the Hospital’s Chairwoman and Board of Directors, as well as HYGEIA Group, for their invaluable help.”
Commenting on the initiative, MITERA Group’s Chairwoman, Ms Areti Souvatzoglou, noted, “The overwhelming response of MITERA Hospital’s medical, nursing and administrative staff to volunteer for this initiative encourages us to continue our organized social responsibility actions.
