MITERA partners with Mayo Clinic to establish the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Training Center
As part of its activities to foster ongoing educational development, but also to promote medical science, MITERA, a member of the largest healthcare group in Greece, the Hellenic Healthcare Group, announces the launch of the partnership between MITERA private hospital and world-renowned Mayo Clinic.
This partnership signals the establishment of the first Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Training Center in Europe that will fulfill the requirements for accreditation by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).
The training program will be a 2 year fellowship, under the scientific guidance of Program Director, Dr. Vasileios Kapetanakis, Scientific Associate at Mayo Clinic and Director of the HYGEIA Endoscopic Female Reproductive Surgery Department, in partnership with the qualified MITERA gynecologists and the scientific team of Mayo Clinic.
Part of the educational process will include training of surgeons on innovative robotic, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic technologies for the management of benign and malignant gynecologic conditions.
Apart from this unique for European standards educational and specialization opportunity for new doctors, through the program, MITERA will create one of the most advanced Laparoscopic Gynecology Centers, offering:
- Partnerships with leading Greek, but also internationally-acclaimed gynecologic surgeons.
- The only Training Center in Europe that will fulfill the requirements to become fully accredited by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).
- Application of the latest medical technology to ensure the best possible medical services, including further development in the field of robotic surgery.
