For the 2nd year running, HYGEIA Group was awarded in the Society pillar at the BRAVO Sustainability Awards 2019 for its “Traveling for Health” initiative, which has been counting 6 years, taking responsibility for life.
The 10th annual BRAVO Sustainability Awards 2019 ceremony took place at the Athens Concert Hall on Wednesday 18 December 2019.
HYGEIA Group remains true to the principles of Corporate Responsibility as well as its commitment that the strategy it follows mainly aims to make the Group operations grow, in line with society, the environment, employees and the market, all the while focusing on people, with a deep sense of responsibility and compassion.
In this context, and with its main priority being to meet the major healthcare needs of people living in remote parts of Greece, for the last 6 consecutive years, it has been traveling to small islands and mountainous regions, which cannot easily access medical services. Backed by the volunteer participation of HYGEIA Group doctors and employees (nursing, administrative and technical staff), we organize hands-on aid campaigns and travel for health, with the leading medical services and cutting-edge equipment of the HYGEIA Group hospitals available to the people who need us most.
A total of 11 volunteer campaigns have been completed so far, while more than 11,166 citizens have been examined and some 43,158 medical and diagnostic tests have been performed (Leipsoi & Agathonisi, Karpenisi, Karpathos, Kalavryta, Kalampaka, Leros, Tilos & Nisyros, Argos Orestiko, Symi, Argithea in Agrafa, Sifnos).
BRAVO is a social dialogue about sustainable development on a national level, based on initiatives by businesses, local government authorities and civil society groups. The 250 initiatives and 35,000 active citizens who participate in BRAVO raise awareness within the Greek society and foster a network for exchanging views and knowledge with the organizations that assist in building the GREECE of TOMORROW.
