HYGEIA Group at the IMTJ Medical Travel Summit 2018, held in Athens
As part of HYGEIA Group’s strategy to expand its services to new markets abroad, HYGEIA Group hospitals HYGEIA and MITERA participated in the IMTJ (International Medical Travel Journal) Medical Travel Summit 2018 that was held for the first time in Athens, Greece. Around 330 representatives from local and international hospitals, IVF clinics, dental practices, associations and medical tourism agencies, as well as government representatives and business advisors attended the Summit.
With its campaign message being “You Are One Ticket Away from the Best Healthcare”, HYGEIA Group was a gold sponsor at the Summit, attracting many visitors to its corporate stand. HYGEIA Group showcased its latest generation equipment in robotic surgery, its renovated MITERA Institute of Life Assisted Reproduction Unit (IVF), and its leading accreditations for its quality and safety standards.
HYGEIA Group also contributed to the scientific program of the Summit with two invited doctors, Dr. Stergios Tasiopoulos, Assistant Director of the HYGEIA Hospital 1st Internal Medicine Clinic and Assistant Medical Services Director, and Dr. Charis Chiniadis, obstetrician/gynecologists and scientific associate of the Institute of Life MITERA – Assisted Reproduction Unit (IVF).
Dr Tasiopoulos focused on the importance of international accreditations when it comes to patients selecting the right hospital to be admitted. He further noted, “HYGEIA is the only hospital in Greece to have been accredited by the Joint Commission International since 2010 for its quality medical services, which are comparable to the best hospitals abroad, while it has also received the Best International Hospital award.”
On his part, Dr Chiniadis elaborated on the reasons why Greece and the Institute of Life MITERA – Assisted Reproduction Unit in particular, is one of the most attractive destinations for infertile couples from Greece and abroad. As he added, “The latest generation equipment, the ISO 9001:2008 and EN 15224:2012 certifications, and above all the experienced embryologists of the Institute of Life MITERA are among the main reasons why it is a center of excellence for Greek and international patients facing infertility problems.”
On the last day of the Summit, a large group of IMTJ delegates visited both HYGEIA and MITERA hospitals, and gave positive feedback on their hotel-like amenities and state-of-the-art infrastructure. The visitors also had the chance to meet the HYGEIA Group’s International Patient Services (IPS) team, who specialize on offering a wide range of hospitality and support services to international patients, in a proficient and friendly manner.
